This is not a question about LyX but about (La)TeX.
Start with the book TeX by topic by Victor Eijkhout and use Claude of any other chat for help with defining your own latex commands. I am not new to LaTeX and Claude's help is invaluable.
Those AIs explain A LOT and they can answer all of your questions.
