The only reference I've found is
https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=30051, which seems to
suggest autoreconfiguring with an older gnulib is a bad idea. However,
Debian has gnulib 20240412~dfb7117+stable202401.20240408~aa0aa87-2
which I assume is more than new enough?
