There is a request for that: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?58199.

Someone even posted a somewhat-functional patch two years ago:
   https://savannah.gnu.org/patch/?10263

Improvements on that patch, or a new implementation, are welcome.

When I need to make the same edits in multiple places, I record
a keyboard macro at the first place, and then run the macro at
the other places. Sounds equipotent to me. So no, multiple
