Yeah, I had noticed the file getting copied in since nano-8.1, but...
I hoped it would go away again in later versions, because some older
versions of nano (before 4.7) also included that file, and I never
noticed it in `git status` then.  It puzzled me.

Anyway, applied, with an edited commit message.  Thanks.
