I didn't shoot it down -- I pushed back.  The defaults cannot please
everyone, therefore many people will want to do some customization.
So that's what I suggested.

But if you had given me some more time, I would most likely already
have changed my mind -- sleeping a night over it does wonders.

I've accidentally hit M-: when I meant M-;.  But I did that just once,
and never again.  When I make a costly mistake, I learn.  :)  Nowadays,
when I record or replay a macro, I go real slow.
