Dear All, Please CC me as I have turned off replies to the ML as I am hopelessly information-overloaded. I have been trying to get nano to wrap as user (not as root) at an arbitary length of 80 columns on Debian stretch . Some details of the package are as under - ┌─[shirish@debian] - [~] - [4190] └─[$] nano --version GNU nano, version 2.7.1 (C) 1999..2016 Free Software Foundation, Inc. (C) 2014..2016 the contributors to nano Email: [email protected] Web: https://nano-editor.org/ Compiled options: --disable-libmagic --disable-wrapping-as-root --enable-utf8 ┌─[shirish@debian] - [~] - [4234] └─[$] realpath .nanorc /home/shirish/.nanorc ┌─[shirish@debian] - [~] - [4235] └─[$] cat .nanorc set autoindent set backup set constantshow set fill 80 Sharing a simple text file see https://www.dropbox.com/s/tb1n8vmyxm7jiuv/sample.txt?dl=0 as well as a screenshot as what it is doing at the moment. Using ESC + L gives a wrapping at 137 columns but dunno by what logic it is doing that. I am writing an essay/article using nano and have to manually adjust things. Look forward to know the correct way to do things. -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com EB80 462B 08E1 A0DE A73A 2C2F 9F3D C7A4 E1C4 D2D8 _______________________________________________ Help-nano mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-nano
