Thanks for testing, and for confirming.

The change has been pushed to master, commit 3981217e,
and will be in 2.9.3, in a couple of weeks.

For points 7 and 8, instead of using ^O <Enter>, one can simply type ^S
nowadays.  Quicker, in my opinion.  And close to ^X too, so a subsequent
exit is easy to type.
