Nano 3.1 on Mac

Hello,

I am struggling with installing nano 3.1 on my Mac. 2.0.6 is preinstalled. 
I ran 

brew install nano
brew link nano 
Linking /usr/local/Cellar/nano/3.1... 42 symlinks created

which nano
/usr/local/bin/nano

nano -V
GNU nano version 2.0.6

Any idea how I can make 3.1 work?
