selecting text with mouse includes linenumbers

Using nano without mouse support using mouse or with mouse support
enabled and using CTRL+mouse to select text and linenumbers enabled
will always include the linenumber and space character before the text
copied to the buffer.

For useful copy'n'paste I need to temporarily disable linenumbers. The
behavior is described here as well:

I'm using foot terminal here.

Other editors like micro don't have this annoying behavior. Is there a
way this can be changed in nano?
