Fergal is correct. Also, if I change Preferences:Tab Stops... "Emulated 
tab spacing" (with the Emulated tabs checked) to 1, I can use this to do 
what I need. That will do in a pinch.

The other thing I wanted to clarify is that we moved from Redhat Linux 
4.4 or 4.5 to 5.1 (2.6.18-92.1.18.el5), not 4.5 to 5.5 (that would be 
Nedit 4.5 to 5.5). Sorry for any confusion.
