Because You send this mail to Eric too, I think you may know the solution: http://kgb.endoftheinternet.org/~bertw/mp050226-V3-1-CVS20080907-2.patch this is a patch which applies to the current CVS code base of NEdit and provide programmable matching pairs (i.e. {/}, begin/end, ...) If you need help to get a working NEdit with this patch, I suggest you search the mail archive for conversations between Eric and me, I helped him back then.
