The reason I mention this is that I recently tried using LessTif as my
main Motif distribution, and had a terrible time with stability. It was
crashing all the time. I've also had similar experiences with 2.3, and
2.2, well, let's not go there. 2.1 has been the best version for me so
far. I notice that above you have a version of NEdit built against
LessTif, which may not be the best version of Motif to use.
Additionally, you're using a UTF-8 based locale, which is likely to
cause problems with NEdit because it doesn't support Unicode, yet.
