RE: Still checking to see if anyone knows how to find where the Preferences Language Mode information is kept

First thanks for the help.

Second, I still have not found exactly what I am looking for (or at least I
don't think I have).

When I go to Preferences, Save Defaults, it prints out; 
"Default preferences will be saved in the .nedit file in your home
directory.  NEdit automatically loads this file each time it is started".

I did a search using 'find . -name ".nedit" -print', and find .nedit in
three folders.  
Only one folder had the .nedit with today's date (meaning it was changed
today, and most likely the one I need).

I did a search using 'find . -name ".rc" -print' and no files were found.


Here is my question: is the .nedit file the only file which I need to copy
to another machine, so I will have same Nedit configuration which I am
currently using, or are there other configuration file which will need to be
copied also?

As an FYI this version of Nedit is 5.2 May 2001.

This information is saved in your nedit resource file. If you have made no
changes to the language mode settings, there are default values built into
the
executable. Typically the file will either be $HOME/.nedit for older
versions,
or $HOME/.nedit/nedit.rc for newer ones (at least on unix-like systems). Try
the menu Preferences->Save Defaults... - this displays a confirmation dialog
to update the file, saying exactly where it is.
