Hi George, Would it be a dtlogin.rc or xlib.rc file? Regards, Steve PS I did down load Version 5.5 Sep 30, 2004 version, and it is up and running. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of George Ganoe Sent: Wednesday, September 22, 2010 1:58 PM To: General NEdit discussion list Subject: Re: Still checking to see if anyone knows how to find where the Preferences Language Mode information is kept Steve, You are correct that the .nedit file you found is likely the one you need to copy to the other machine, as that is the only config file created by the version you are using. One comment about your find command searching for nedit.rc files. It should be 'find . -name "*.rc" -print' or something that will get the nedit part of the nedit.rc name. I'm not sure what version started using the .nedit configuration folder instead of the file .nedit, and also I'm not sure how well upgraded versions will be able to read version 5.2 configuration files. However, even if your other machine has a newer version, or you put a newer version on it, it is worth a try to put the current .nedit file in you home folder before you start up the new version. The current version is version 5.5, and there are test sources available for version 5.6 if you want to try that one. Look at the download tab on http://www.nedit.org for the latest versions.
