Quoting "Paterline, David L." <[email protected]>: > If any? >From what I gather, we were pretty well this close: -> <- to the "maintenance" release. I don't think there were any show-stopper bugs to be handled. Thorsten was trying to put together a mini-environment to give some more involved macros than can be reasonably built into the executable, to be delivered as an accompanying tarball and to be unpacked into a new user's ~/.nedit/. Eddy supplied the nedit.rc 5.5 - 5.6 upgrade code some time ago. Other than that, no executables for "the usual platforms" have been built, since the code hasn't been sanctioned as officially in beta. I wonder if anybody uses it. Those who know where to find it have probably patched it into an unrecognisable state (I know Thorsten has, as have I). Certainly there's lots of good stuff in various people's patches that's languishing in individuals' homespun variants. So what's left to do for 5.6? IMO label the source for beta now and forget about the tarball, if that's all that's holding us up. If I get my way, the macro language will get a huge slew of extensions, so they will be out of date PDQ! ;) Tony -- NEdit Discuss mailing list - [email protected] http://www.nedit.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
