Oops. My mistake. The version number I mentioned in my previous message is of a derived gettext package I use: Which is 'GNU gettext for Delphi, C++ Builder and Kylix', from http://dybdahl.dk/dxgettext/. This is a simple and effective Windows .po file creating tool I found for extracting .po file from Delphi, C++ and Kylix sources. It does not have po-editting fascillities though, and that's why I am using poEdit. My problem is therefore is not directly related to poEdit, but the package I use to extract translations from sourcecode into .po files. It extracts too much in certain cases. Therefore I would be greatly helped when deletion of items was possible from within poEdit.
