I think there's no readily usable Windows backend for Enchant 
(http://www.abisource.com/enchant/), is there? I got a patch that 
implements cross-platform spellchecking UI, but it uses Aspell and I 
would have to rewrite it to use Enchant (which is better interface to 
all sorts of spellcheckers) and so I decided to simply use GtkSpell 
for Unix side, with the intent to apply modified Aspell patch later 
if Enchant becomes readily usable on Windows (or when somebody 
corrects my misconception that it isn't ;).
