Only to some extent. For example, if you use (hypothetical) Python 
add-on module with bakefile for building Python extensions or add-on 
for compiling Pascal sources, it makes sense to let AC_BAKEFILE 
automagically check if Python or Pascal are available. But only you 
know what other requirements your software has (Does it use 
snprintf()? Does it requires <hash_map> header? Does it require 
libxml version at least 2.4.3?), so only you can write good 
configure.in script.
