I'm afraid this wouldn't be practical. The TM stores _sentences_ and compares by them, so if you would select any subphrase that isn't a complete sentence, you wouldn't get any (useful) hits. And if you got all translations of complete sentences with "backup" in them, it wouldn't be very useful either, it would produce lot of noise. The real solution is to implement compendium(s) support.
