Anything is possible.

No, no others that I can think of. IIRC the problem with cx_Freeze was 
something else (but I could be remembering wrong).

Note that the problem with PyInstaller was not that PyInstaller itself 
segfaults, but the program it produces segfaults. Note also that that 
program doesn't run on a Mandriva computer.

But it is entirely possible that the problem is on my computer.

It *could* be a problem with my wxWidgets. That's one thing that all 
these programs have in common. I could test that by compiling poEdit 
against the other copy of wxWidgets I have (the one I use for my static 
C++ binary).

Hmm... I can't compile PoEdit with my other copy of wxWidgets:

But I think LD_LIBRARY_PATH is fine:

$ echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
/home/daniel/.local/lib
$ ls -d /home/danie/.local/lib/wx
/home/danie/.local/lib/wx
$

Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

wxWidgets is a candidate. That's one thing all the crashing apps have in 
common.

Maybe someone can help me compile PoEdit against a wxWidgets installed 
in a non-standard directory. Btw, my second copy of wxWidgets is for 
static binaries.
