Hi, I am using pollo to edit my own kind of XML documents, driven by my own XML schema, developed itself with pollo. I find pollo very helpful in doing this job, and its unique colorful view gives a very clear understanding of the document structure, just at a glance. I would like to express here some enhancement requests that, in my opinion, would make pollo definitely suitable for a professional usage, even for non-expert people who, given an XML schema (What's this beast?), are requested to write a valid XML document. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Java, so I am sorry I will not be able to contribute myself to the development..... 1) It is actually possible, using pollo, to create non-valid XML documents: pollo seems not to take in account the order (and the number) in which the various elements have to be declared. I understand that there is the possibility to validate a document afterwards, but it would be much better if that document were valid-by-construction 2) If the document is not valid, to debug it with the pollo's validator is a nightmare, as no information is given about the position of the error(s) in the document. It would be better to highlight the line in the tree view itself, or give at least the line number. 3) The Content Model Window is a very helpful guide, but it should not grab the focus, I should be able to keep it open for reference and go on editing in the main pollo' window. 4) It is not possible to start editing a brand new document starting from a custom XML schema, pollo should be able to build automatically a first skeleton (containing at least the root element) for such a new document Now some requests about using pollo as an "expert" user: 1) I have added a template and a schema inside pollo's tree, but I had some doubts editing the pollo_conf.xml with rel. 0.4 because the on-line documentation about the display specification format is not aligned. 2) also, it should be possible to have another place outside pollo's installation for custom display specifications, for instance using an env variable like "POLLO_CONF" 3) As rel 0.4 is able to read the XMLSchema.xsd (the Schema's Schema, I tested it!), why not include it in the distribution?
