Accessibility

Hello folks

Please bear with me for a moment.

I have written to this list before, but for a reminder, and for those 
who do not yet know, I am a totally blind programmer.

Neil has kindly responded to accessibility issues before now, and now 
Scintilla, and hence SciTE, is even accessible on Linux using the Orca 
screen reader.

But there is one feature which is still not accessible to me on either 
Windows, using the Open Source screen reader, NVDA, or on Linux using Orca.

And that is code completion.

If I type the word 'elephant' into an empty document, then, further 
down, type 'e' again, followed by tab and space, I get elephant.

If I make a list of words, I presume I get a scroll down list that 
diminishes in length each time I type a letter until the word I have 
typed is unique.

But if this list is on-screen, neither screen reader can "see" it, it is 
silent.

You guys all know how IDEs work, with code-completion etc.

Am I right in assuming this is a visible list? I should be able to 
scroll down this list and pick a word, but it never seems to receive 
keyboard focus so my screen readers do not work.

Their is a commercial Windows screen reader called Jaws, that might 
work, but that costs 800 quid. I cannot afford it.

Can somebody describe to me how this code-completion list appears?

If I can get a handle on this, I can write a plug-in for NVDA, probably.
