You're right. It's was a little reductive :)


Like I stated before, Markdown is very popular, so used by a lot of people. 
I believe the Scite editor is the right tool for the job as you can write 
the markup in Plain text and use syntax highlighting. 

I use Scite as the go to editor for markdown in favor of other great 
dedicated editors like for example Typora or ghostwriter because it's so 
lightweight and can easily be integrated with other tools like pandoc for 
export.

I hope you consider my question.
