Is it possible to define the word.characters property for a new, unnamed buffer?

So that I may define word.characters as in others.properties...

word.characters.$(file.patterns.text)=3D$(chars.alpha)$(chars.numeric)$(cha=
rs.accented)-'

... and have cursor navigation (ctrl+left/right) skip entire words instead=

of stopping at accented characters in a line such as:

    Tire suas d=C3=BAvidas, n=C3=A3o deixe a mat=C3=A9ria acumular.
