Env: cmd.exe in Windows10, sed v.407 from UnxUtils
I want sed to print line numbers only; and this only if line-regex matches.
Furthermore, if several occurances (line numbers) were found, print only
the line number of first occurance (1st line number only).
Till now I fiddled together this code in a batch file:
sed "=" main.sps|sed -n "/./N;/^_line_regex$/Ip;s/^line_regex$//g"|sed
"s/^line_regex$//g"|sed "$!N;s/\n//"
= number each line in file - but print only if it matches the regex
= substitute regex with a nullstring
= replace any windows linefeed with a nullstring
Result are line numbers only for any occurance of regex found.
Questions:
1. Is it possible to shorten this code? I'm sure I missed something here.
2. And, how to tell sed to stop after the first occurance of a line match?
Similar to question 2, is it possible to change the following code
in a way that sed stops after first substitution (if several occurances
exist)?
sed "/^_line_regex$/I s/\(^.*$\)/\1\^_line_replacement$/g" "main.sps"
