I would not wait 3.0 to update Guile.
Either we go for Guile 3.0 soon or we will have to implement a solution to get the guile sources (1.8 or earlier smaller version) into TeXmacs codebase. Is becoming more and more difficult to support 1.8 in Unix systems (and also on Mac).
