How to start about ideas of Texmacs in Gsoc

Hi,I am a sophomore in the computer department of Nanjing University.I know this project through Gsoc-cn in gitter. I can use C / C ++ / Python for programming and am happy to learn Scheme. I used to simulate a basic computer system (32-bit) in C language (source code is on my github). I think Texmacs's ideas are very interesting and challenging. Where can I start now?
