Hi, this is typical for Flatpak packages, but this is a design issue and it
can be considered as a safety solution too.

In addition, Flathub disallows using some of the possible permissions, so
Flathub's Flatpak packages are extremely sandboxed. There seems to be a way
to tweak these settings (see
https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/flatpaks-cant-seem-to-access-most-fo=
lders-including-home/76543),
but I am not familiar with this, sorry.

What TeXmacs should work around better, indeed, is error handling. It
crashes also if there is no applicable locale on the system. There is no
fallback option in such cases.
