The relevant options are

-  'timeout'
-  'ttimeout'
-  'timeoutlen'
-  'ttimeoutlen'

and you can/may need to tweak any or all of them. I have set them up so as
to allow rather slow typing, especially when typing multi-key commands,
which suits me because of my disability.
