Sounds like you where close, but maybe have the 'Resquence lines on save' turned on?

Go into preferences, type in reseq and select the 'Remote Systems LPEX Editor', and unselect the choice.

 It would have seen the insertions and requenced on save.

I think that's what I tried.  It gave the two source members side by side and let me pick what to move across.  Unfortunately, it updated every source date in the target, even unchanged rows.

Can you be more specific on "Member compare"?  Is that an option in Object Table view?  Maybe I did something different than the option you suggested.
