i may be able to find an 3.x system to test, but i should also note
that not surprisingly, i found that all versions of sam (both locally built
and pkg_added) i tried suffer from the same deficiency. i suppose that wily
and sam user communities are not that large, and/or those users almost never
use caps lock. sigh.
