V2.0 Patch 1 (November 04, 2002)
Enhancements:
* Professional Edition can be deployed using
JavaTM Web Start. A new command-line tool
called deploywebstart can be used to
automatically generate a ready-to-use Web
Start configuration (.jnlp file, signed jars,
etc) from a possibly customized XXE
distribution.
* Selecting text automatically ``copies it as
system selection'' on platforms supporting
system selection (X-Window) and automatically
copies it to an internal clipboard on other
platforms.
Added a new binding: clicking with mouse
button #2 (middle button or mouse wheel)
pastes the content of system selection on
platforms supporting system selection and
pastes the content of an internal clipboard on
other platforms (if allowed by grammar
constraining the document, of course).
* An elementTemplate with selectable="override"
replaces the automatically generated element
of the same name, everywhere such
automatically generated element would
otherwise have been used.
Previously such elementTemplates were only
used by interactive insert element or replace
element commands.
* An elementTemplate can include another
elementTemplate.
* DocBook element templates table(simple) and
informaltable(simple) have been marked as
selectable="override".
XHTML element templates table(simple) and
dl(dd_dt) have been marked as
selectable="override".
* The convert command can now be used to convert
text selection to mixed content elements
having required attributes. For example, the
previous, stricter, behavior prevented to use
the convert command to convert a text range to
DocBook link or ulink.
* Rewrote the selectNode command to make it more
powerful. This was needed in order to use this
command to write non-trivial macro-commands.
* Replaced the following bindings:
+ Ctrl-Left Arrow now selects preceding
sibling.
Previously this keystroke moved caret to
following word.
+ Ctrl-Right Arrow now selects following
sibling.
Previously this keystroke moved caret to
preceding word.
+ Shift-Ctrl-Left Arrow extends node
selection to preceding sibling.
Previously this keystroke extended text
selection to following word.
+ Shift-Ctrl-Right Arrow extends node
selection to following sibling.
Previously this keystroke extended text
selection to preceding word.
+ Shift-Ctrl-Down Arrow selects all child
nodes of implicitly or explicitly
selected element.
Previously this keystroke selected
preceding sibling.
Removed the following bindings:
+ Shift-Ctrl-Up Arrow which previously
selected preceding sibling.
+ All Esc-* bindings previously used to
insert texts, comments or processing
instructions and edit processing
instruction target.
* Added a center command (bound to keystroke
Shift-Ctrl-L) which centers node selection,
text selection or caret in the document view.
* Added an execute command mainly useful to
interactively test other commands.
* Added an alert command which is useful to help
debug macro-commands.
* Added a Reload All Configurations menu item to
the Options menu.
* Localized XXE to French.
Bug fixes:
* In a XXE configuration, in a detect element,
using element fileNameExtension prevented the
DTD or XML Schema specified in the
configuration from being used for a
successfully detected document.
* Environment variables XXE_CATALOGS,
XXE_PLUGIN, XXE_CONFIG were not used by the
launcher created by the XXE installer on
Windows (that is, the shortcut to
XMLmind_XML_Editor.exe added to start menu).
With this bug, the techniques for centralizing
XXE configurations on a HTTP server described
in the Power User's Guide could not be applied
when using XMLmind_XML_Editor.exe. (However,
these techniques worked on Unix and when using
xxe.bat on Windows.)
* The APT plug-in didn't find graphics files
specified using an absolute path.
* The copy command was always enabled even when
there was no explicit or implicit selection.
Using the copy command without any selection
caused XXE to report a NullPointerException.
* XML Schema only: a false validation error was
found on elements with xsi:nil=true just
containing an empty text node.
