Rotary and CIS

I will shortly be proposed as a member of Rotary, as a result we can be 
assured of the backing of Rotary International in anything we do.

Next (Rotary) year is the 100th anniversary of Rotary. As a result there 
will be alot of publicity around Rotary International, this will be an 
ideal opportunity to do a major project.

With the backing of Rotary it is feasible to source a considerable 
number of machines and to fund their transport to the country.

With the backing of Rotary it is feasible to get these machines into a 
large number of locations (not just schools, community centres and the 
like as well).

At this point my Rotary club is closing in on one of two projects. There 
is a medical focussed project and our CIS project. We will shortly be 
deciding on which we should do. My concern with the CIS one is getting 
the backing of action rather than talk.

So, I am asking for *commitment* now. If Rotary bring in a number of 
machines how many of you will *guarantee* to assist with their 
installation and basic computer literacy training for people we proivde 
them to.

This will be *unpaid* work, but will be for good causes. It can also be 
extremely good publicity for our proposed association over at TTLUG.

Please indicate the number of weekends you would be willing to give up 
over the course of a calendar year. Of course this is an estimate, but 
please be sensible, don't go promising too many. Please do not promise 
it and then let me down. I would rather be suprised by having too many 
volunteers at the time than too few.

For my part I am willing to commit to 4 weekends over the year and as 
many nights as it takes to do my Rotary related admin work (this is at 
least 60% of my Tuesday nights, plus coordination time with donors etc.
