Forwarded as requested by Ross.  I guess it has been understated in the 
past but let me point out that all members of the CIS initiative are 
equally important.  I've never thought of myself or anyone being above 
anyone else.  I therefore feel we are losing a critical part of our 
community with Ross' resignation.

Ross, like you, our door open should you need any assistance, and we'll 
try to provide it as best as we can.

Allan,

(this is a private mail since I am no longer on the CIS list, however,
please forward to the CIS list, it is important from a community
development point of view. Please do so without editing or comment, at
least within the first forwarded mail)

I wish to be perfectly clear that my current personal mood has nothing
to do with my comments on leaving CIS. I had previously decided that I
would leave the list if I again felt that my position was stated as
being incorrect, rather than being questioned in a constructive manner.
It so happens that this has coincided with other more important things
in my life, but please be under no illusions that my decision to leave
under these circumstances had been made weeks ago.

That being said, it is also important that you understand that my words
are not intended to impart any blame. I have learnt that when a personal
clash is consistent within a group it is prudent for one of the partners
in that repeated clash to withdraw. Since I am the *least* important
person to CIS at this point in time and I *am* a part of a clash (or
possibly the cause) then I must resign. This is not meant as a personal
comment about any individual (myself or anyone else) it is simply a
recognition of a situation that exists an an appropriate action to try
address that issue.

I have no doubt that you are sincere when you say you're intentions are
to discuss. I also have no doubt that you are one of the most productive
members of the CIS group. I have not forgotten who donated the most
hardware to the original lab, in fact all the equipment came from just
four people, unfortunately you are the only remaining active member.

It saddens me that your response to my resignation implies that my words
were aimed *at* you. This was not my intention, I wish to support you in
what you are trying to do, and my departure should not be seen as
anything other than a continuation of that support. Sometimes, to be
productive one has to cut away the dead wood. I have identified *myself*
as the deadwood, not CIS itself, and this is how CIS members should
interpret my resignation.

I will *not* be returning to CIS, I do not feel my presence would be
helpful. However, my offer to assist remains open. If you choose to use
Burrokeet that is my best channel of assistance, I am researcher and a
developer not a social engineer and since I am not West Indian I cannot
be a part of a social engineering project in the West Indies.
