Not such a clear-cut distinction as that, I think. If I remember correctly,
the Qur'an is said to have been 'revealed' to Muhammad in a series of
'visions', which he wrote down as he experienced them. The angel Jibril
(Gabriel) is then said to have appeared and sorted the bits into the right
order. It was not sent to earth in one piece as is alleged of the Book of
Mormon, written on golden plates and delivered by the angel Moroni.

The Torah, in the strict sense of the Pentateuch, is described as the word
of God revealed to, and written down, by Moses. The rest of the Old
Testament is simply a series of records written down by humans, and no one
claims anything beyond that for it. The same with the New Testament, of
course.
