Apparently, in a recent book on Housman, there's a choice to use medial sigma, as Housman does in the quote here, rather than final or lunate as the reviewer at https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.academia.edu%2F19989288%2FScholiaRev_n.s._20_2011_14_David_Butterfield_and_Christopher_Stray_eds._A._E._Housman_Classical_scholar_&data=02%7C01%7CCLASSICS-L%40LSV.UKY.EDU%7C6b8cbd94c6304a87cc2608d6c5d237f7%7C2b30530b69b64457b818481cb53d42ae%7C0%7C1%7C636913904019102026&sdata=5WdR0G%2B3NozzmNfL4wdMZBzlm3%2FzVnUBKej1Pt5J%2FOM%3D&reserved=0 would prefer. Maybe something to pursue?
