Re: Plato "quote"?

There's a big industry in fake Plato and Cicero (inter alios). This one seems to be some kind of *meta*-misquote: you'd say something like "As Plato said, but here as elsewhere context is everything, 'raising taxes killed the Republic.'" The you cut and paste and eliminate the punctuation surrounding the actual (or supposed) quotation. I doubt it would be worth it to try and find actual Plato parallels to the thought about context. For instance, Republic 7 537C on guardian education: synoptic education gathering scattered subjects together. But that's a lot more than just contextualizing some words.

I've been asked by a non-classics friends to authenticate a supposed quote from Plato: "context is everything."  It sounds very unplato-like to me, but perhaps someone has a suggestion?
