This Ovid exhibition at Le Scuderie was well worth visiting, but it ended in January. Currently running in Rome is an excellent exhibition about the emperor Claudius, his family, and the city and empire in his time, at the Ara Pacis. You can buy a separate ticket to the exhibition without having to visit the Ara Pacis if you've seen that enough of that already. The catalogue of the exhibition, 'Claudio Imperatore: Messalina, Agrippina E Le Ombre Di Una Dinastia', is excellent. Across the street the Mausoleum of Augustus is still undergoing cleanup; it's not yet reopened to the public but can be well seen from the sidewalk. As always, we came back from Rome laden with books and can't wait to go back. La Feltrinelli still didn't have Monopoly edizione Roma.
