usage of terms pagan and hellene

I was wondering if there is a scholarly source, a book or article, that presents the various (chronological, ideological) of the terms pagan/Hellene in Christian and non-Christian sources. I know the basic etymology of the words and I know that Christians came to use "pagan" as their generic terms for various 'Greco-Roman-Egyptian-etc.' religions. On the other hand, the Emperor Julian, term "Hellene" in place of what Christians called "pagan," as did Eusebius.  I'm trying to get a handle the use of these terms in this semantic range. Any suggestions.
