Sorry, this is anecdotal rather than helpful...

A few years ago I tried to sell many Classics commentaries (Cambridge green
and gold, Oxford, etc.) on this list, plus about 55 Loebs.  I was able to
sell only a fraction of the commentaries.  But every single Loeb found a
new home.

My graduate school adviser tried to persuade us that nobody above the
undergraduate level used Loebs.  I learned a lot from him, but I found
little evidence of this.  I'm now a librarian, and have been repeatedly
asked to purchase Loebs for our collection--or order them on interlibrary
loan for faculty.
