Hi everyone,

I just wanted to send an update for those of you whom this may impact. We heard back from EBSCO and they told us that this has been an issue for a while, but it has been resolved with their latest proxy stanza update. Their newest stanza is: https://connect.ebsco.com/s/article/How-do-I-set-up-EBSCOhost-in-my-EZproxy-server?language=en_US

We contacted OCLC and asked them to update our EZproxy config file with this stanza, and once they did the issue was resolved.

We have been experiencing this issue for a while and have so far not found any solutions. Has anyone else encountered this and, if so, have you been able to troubleshoot successfully?

Each time a user tries to download one of our EBSCO ebooks from off-campus, after authenticating via EZproxy, they are taken to a page that prompts them to create an individual EBSCO account. But when they fill out their information and try to click on 'create account', that button is greyed out and they're unable to move ahead with creating an account and downloading the book. This only happens off-campus, via EZproxy. On-campus users have no issues creating an EBSCO account following the above steps.

We have been in contact with both EBSCO and OCLC, and at one point they even tried to work together to resolve this issue, but so far have not found a resolution. At EBSCO's recommendation, OCLC updated our EBSCOhost EZproxy stanza to comment out the auth.ebsco.zone record in the stanza, which EBSCO said has resolved the issue for other sites - but this did not work for us.
