Claire - so, these resources, are they 3rd party commercial one such as JSTOR, Science Direct etc, or are they local resources?

If they are third party resources then I guess they are IP authenticated? What IP range do you give to the vendor to allow access to your institution?

Are the Wifi IP addresses in the same range as your institutional IPs?

If they are the same then a user can always bypass Ezproxy and get access to the resource. Not sure if Ezproxy can help here (unless you've told the vendor that the only IP allowed to access the resource is the Ezproxy IP?)

I would like for these IPs not to be able to access these resources.

Kind regards,

Claire

Claire - the ExcludeIP directive tells Ezproxy NOT to proxy connections from that IP - Ezproxy will step out of the way and redirect to the resource. Is that what you want?

You may want IncludeIP if you want to force users/IPs through the proxy.

Subject: [EZPROXY-L] Excluding IP addresses in EZProxy

Hi

We have a guest wifi password here but people using it can still access e-resources and we want to stop them from accessing the resources Now I have included the IP addresses that are in the guest wifi to say ##Exclude IP .... in my config file but when I log in as a guest wifi user I can still access the resources, could anyone tell me how to exclude these IP addresses another way because it hasn't worked changing the config file
