Based on feedback from users, we have updated the EZproxy 6.6.2 release notes describing a ShibbolethMetadata configuration necessary for some customers whose SAML configurations are relying on previous SAML versions. Please review the notes describing the SAML integrations and test accordingly before moving to the new system. Thank you for your feedback.

EZproxy v6.6.2 was released today, 26 September 2019. This release contains requested enhancements and new features including:



•         Encrypted usernames and OpenSSL 1.0.2s to improve security for your patrons

•         Fiddler compliant socket logging allows you to troubleshoot access issues more quickly

•         Expanded Central Authentication Service (CAS) integrations allow your library and campus SSO services to integrate more closely

Install Window for EZproxy hosted customers:

EZproxy hosted customers will be notified when their site is scheduled to be updated.



Important note about Proxy by Port:

OCLC will end support for EZproxy’s Proxy by Port option on 30 September 2020, due to its incompatibility with many popular e-resource websites. Customers currently running Proxy by Port may continue to do so for the time being. After 30 September 2020, customers will need to enable Proxy by Hostname in order to receive support from OCLC. Proxy by Hostname will help ensure seamless access for your library’s e-resource subscriptions.
