No, assuming you have a wildcard SSL certificate for *.ezproxy.foo.com, there needs to be a corresponding wildcard dns entry for the same *.ezproxy.foo.com

That way, when proxy 'creates' hostnames like resource-company-org.ezproxy.foo.com (or login.ezproxy.foo.com) they are considered valid.

Getting your campus IT folk to approve the purchase of the wildcard cert & setting the wildcard dns entry can be a battle, though.
