Hi Tracey,

The 'connection refused' message you are seeing may be a result of the Emerald platform/domain name change that occurred a few weeks ago which required an EZproxy stanza change. Further information about this can be found on the Emerald website: https://www.emerald.com/insight/faq

Also, if the University of Adelaide has Primo as the discovery layer it could be because of the fact the community zone records have not been updated by Exlibris yet. I created a Sales Force job (#739797) about a week and a half ago and Exlibris advised that they will update the records soon (unfortunately they did not provide a set date, but indicated it would be this week?).

Kind regards,
Kirsten

Hi everyone,

Following on from the "Connection refused" messages which we are also intermittently seeing and will attempt to resolve, are any others also seeing "400 Bad Request - Request Header or Cookie too Large"? This occurred on Firefox for me and was reported by one of our staff earlier today.

If you have, do you have any suggested fixes for this?

Kind regards,

Tracey

Hi Joe

Hmm, does your hosted service use IPv6 at all?

This issue was fixed by using the Interface directive specifying the EZproxy server's IP address. We don't need to use the Reset Authentication button at the top of Emerald Insight. I don't get any connection refused messages since the fix was implemented:
Interface xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

[this directive is declared globally by script rather than my configuring it on the relevant stanzas like Emerald and IEEE because we have a production and a staging server and the directive's IP address needs to be discrete - probably not pertinent to hosted EZproxy customers].

We're self-hosted on EZproxy 6.4.4 GA. The stanza I have configured includes liblynx rather than declaring that particular host on a separate stanza:

Subject: Re: [EZPROXY-L] Emerald.com refused your connection message

Hi all,

Did anyone get a resolution to this? We followed Simon's (Emerald Test Lead) advice but are still getting:

Connection refused by www.emerald.com, please try again later.

...intermittently when routing via EZProxy.

We are navigating to https://www.emerald.com/insight from our starting point URL and our stanzas looks like:

Interface (EZProxy IP address)

Title Emerald (OCLC IncludeFile updated 20190624) URL https://www.emerald.com/insight HJ https://www.emerald.com HJ www.emerald.com DJ emerald.com

Interface (EZProxy IP address)

Title LibLynx (IncludeFile Updated 20190624) URL https://connect.liblynx.com HJ connect.liblynx.com DJ liblynx.com

(though we are a hosted EZProxy customer, so rely on customer support for changes)

Hoping someone out there found a fix!

Thanks,
Joe
