Hi David.

The anonymous URL page has "wildurl" with no additional notes or restrictions so I believe you should assume that "? matches to any single character and * matches 0 or more characters" as on the expressions page.

The expressions page has :-
https://help.oclc.org/Library_Management/EZproxy/Authenticate_users/Directives_and_configurations_for_authentication/Expressions
wild
A wildcard comparison string which is compared using a case-insensitive comparison and in which ? matches to any single character and * matches 0 or more characters.

The neverproxy page hakes the additional note that ? can only be used in combination with * :-
https://help.oclc.org/Library_Management/EZproxy/Configure_resources/NeverProxy
If wilddomain contains an *, then EZproxy will attempt to match hostnames using * as a wildcard for 0 or more characters and ? as a wildcard for any single character. Note that ? only works as a wildcard if * is also specified.

Best,

Laszlo.

Subject: [EZPROXY-L] WildURL regular expression syntax

Since there doesn't appear to be any documentation on the various
places in the configuration files where regular expressions can be
used, does anyone know (or, can point me to official documentation
that explains) the exact rules for the RE syntax when constructing a
wildurl pattern for AnonymousURL?

Thanks,
David
