I agree with Matt's thought of what it means, and will add this: *EVERY* "Login.Success.Relogin" I have EVER encountered has a session value that is exactly the same as a Login.Success. You can safely ignore all the relogins knowing that you have counted that session as it initially occurred with Login.Success. ___________________ Ed Cherry Systems Librarian Samford University Library 205-726-2506 | office [email protected] library.samford.edu 800 Lakeshore Drive, Birmingham, AL 35229 -----Original Message----- From: EZproxy List <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Matt Thomas Sent: Friday, November 15, 2019 1:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [EXTERNAL]Re: [EZPROXY-L] audit: difference between Login.Success and Login.Success.Relogin? Carrie Preston, Good question. I don't know but I THINK it means that the user has clicked on an EZproxy login link but the cookie is still there so they don't have to actually log in. Doing some quick checking of my instution's logs, a "Login.Success.Relogin" seems to typically happen shortly after a "Login.Success" (3 or 4 seconds) as if they just clicked the proxied link twice because the first didn't react fast enough. I wouldn't include "Login.Success.Relogin" in counts of logins because they seem to be connected with a regular successful login typically. Also, I discovered an account in our logs that was obviously automated and it created a LOT of examples of "Login.Success.Relogin", way more that all the other examples combined. If you have any of these cases, this will inflate your numbers even more. I'm trying to come up with some summary login statistics to give managers an idea of how much our system is used. "Login.Success" in the audit log seems like a good metric, but I'm not sure whether to include "Login.Success.Relogin" as well. I haven't been able to find any documentation on the OCLC site as to what Login.Success.Relogin means. I notice it seems to appear shortly after a login by the same user/IP. I'm guessing I probably shouldn't count it as an additional login. Does anyone know what Login.Success.Relogin actually represents? thanks, -carrie preston ******************************************************************** If you wish to stop receiving messages from EZPROXY-L or otherwise amend your preferences, you can do so here.
