The first URL is case sensitive. The second URL does not include your ezproxy host name, so the browser will be redirected to the unproxied URL.

Is it possible to proxy a domain generally but to never proxy just one specific path?

Eg I want to proxy

Https://www.mysite.com<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/1w0zCWLVn6ixxqWJt6NJgL?domain=mysite.com>

For all paths except for

Https://www.mysite.com/dontproxythis.js<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/buVMCXLW6DiGGKzwiVL1ZO?domain=mysite.com>

I've tried to achieve this using the Neverproxy directive on that specific path but that just then stops proxying mysite entirely.

If you just exclude URLs from your ezproxy configuration, ezproxy will prevent access to those sites.

You can get links which include your ezproxy server, coming from diverse sources eg DOI links, which end up with links on sites for which you have no subscription.
In that case, your users would be blocked with a "host needed" message.

If you configure ezproxy to "neverproxy" those hosts, the user will get to the content, but not via ezproxy.

Hi all,



As a fairly new EZproxy admin, I am going through the collection of configuration files to make sense of the way they've evolved over the years. I hope to clean them up over the December break, before classes started again in January.



One puzzling item (of many) is a list of more than 550 urls that are specified with the "neverproxy" directive. The list seems somewhat arbitrary and random, at least to a novice.



Does anyone else have a list of sites to not proxy? Can you explain why you would add a URL to this list? Although I didn't check all of them, so far I can't find one is configured to be proxied. It seems that if the URL is not listed as a proxied site, there would be no reason to add it to this list.



Maybe this directive was necessary in an older version of EZproxy? Its purpose eludes me.



I am also asking among the staff here at the USC Libraries to see if there is institutional memory that can explain it, but I suspect that this community may be able to provide some insight. I'd be grateful for any replies.
