I think I found the answer; Ezproxy does not support reCAPTCHA.
I will check with WRDS Support Team directly ;)

Hi all,

Starting on January 15, 2020, WRDS will begin using a different URL for Day Pass access.
The new Day Pass URL will be: https://wrds-www.wharton.upenn.edu/connect/

Has anyone updated to the latest stanza and has problem with the reCaptcha?
