Hello everyone,

I am in the middle of setting up ezproxy for my library and have a question regarding how to keep the proxy URL all the way through the database navigation?

the URL seems always changing so no stable URL. For example: we have the ezproxy URL of:

     *   http://ezproxy.laverne.edu:2048/login?url=https://search.proquest.com/abidateline/advanced?accountid=25355
     * You noticed the port is 2048. However, when clicking on it, and take me to the database, the port number becomes something different like 2799; 2655, seems random to me... This create a huge issue for us since people can't seems to be copy paste the URL.
     * Also, I sometimes lost the proxy URL for some databases. so again, people can't copy and paste the URL when faculty trying to link to it.

I think it has to do with my config file...but I do't know which part control this... I appreciate very much if you could share your experience on this issue.

Also, can someone share with me the config file template? where the beginning lines are all the standard? we only need to insert local database below? I tried to find in the OCLC support page but didn't find it. Thanks so much!

Thanks so much!
Amy

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [EZPROXY-L] Individual bookshelf accounts in Ebook Central broken after move to ADFS

Hi all,

Last year I set up a group in EZproxy for Ebook Central which forces all users to login on campus, avoiding autologin. This meant that all users would access their own personalised account.

2 weeks ago we moved our authentication to ADFS, and now whether I’m on or off campus, I am logged into a generic bookshelf in Ebook Central that all users have access to. So they have lost their personalised account. So whatever the anonymous identifier was that EZproxy was sending to Ebook Central for user accounts, it is not longer sending that.

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?
Thanks,

Petrina
